Tomoko Konno

The images of my work are shaped by capturing the energy in movement, with each work being created through the accumulation of individual pieces.
I use the nerikomi technique because it feels so similar as I work through the layers of clay.
The connection is felt outside, too and everyone can join together and form a circle of similar connections.
Just as the borders of the world disappear with a smile, smiley faces are hidden in her works.
I started my pottery career in Hong Kong and since then have lived in Japan and several other countries enjoying giving lectures, workshops and being part of exhibitions.
