Yuliya Makliuk (Ukraine) is a ceramic artist, researcher, and author whose work addresses sustainability, material ethics, and the environmental impact of studio ceramics. She is the author of Potters Save the World, a widely referenced book on sustainable ceramics, and lectures internationally on low-carbon ceramic practice.
Through art, research, and education, Yuliya explores what ceramics in the Anthropocene can look like, remaining grounded in material experimentation and craft.
Since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, her practice has increasingly engaged with art as a form of resilience and response to crisis.
