Bagwall Goblins: Detritus and Clay
I used to, and perhaps still do, call them ‘Bagwall Goblins’. If anyone reading this has ever fired a kiln with a bagwall between the inner sanctum and the burners, the goblins are those little bits of detritus that need to be cleaned out between firings, or at least, every so often. They are born from exploding pottery, running glazes, and the occasional side effects from gas, wood, salt, or raku kilns. There is even the rare deviant found in an electric kiln. These goblins only took on a new meaning for me more recently when my imagination and intent decided to upgrade them into ‘art’.
