Inoue Manji – Ippodo Gallery, New York
Has any country changed more than Japan in the past century, while managing to maintain its traditions? Perhaps it has succeeded so well because every innovation is presented as only the latest expression of a longcherished tradition. So I was surprised – and not – by the exhibition of porcelain pots by 83 year old Inoue Manji in New York.
