The cycle of life, death and re-birth reverberate in a constant interchange, the place I call home, the planet, is swiftly changing, the animals and plants are disappearing, gender and individual identity dissolve in these circumstances and I fill the void with new creatures, new ‘others’ asking those same questions: What are we? Where do we come from? Where are we going? They insist our contemporary memes and institutional frameworks are redundant and destructive, and they believe we can make the world anew.

While my totems mark the passing of earthly creatures with their references to many of the other life forms to which we will one day return, military dominations and outmoded destructive economic realities remain. I try to make my animals joyful and assertive marking both the transient and connected nature of our moments. They speak a gentler language, and they are asking for a gentler world.
