Ranti Bam, Anima, at James Cohan Gallery, New York, May 17-July 26, 2024
The British-Nigerian sculptor Ranti Bam this summer had her New York debut at James Cohan’s Grand Street gallery on the Lower East Side. The works were at once familiar – upright forms of stoneware or earthenware, roughly torso-size -and deeply, beautifully, evocatively distinctive.
