Swansong: Hiroe Swen’s farewell to ceramics
Uncompromised (shown through March and April, 2025) at Skepsi Gallery in Melbourne, Australia is Hiroe Swen’s swansong, her farewell to both ceramics and to the country she has called home for over half-a-century. Diminutive in stature but prolific in output, Swen, 91, has packed her bags and is returning home to Japan for what she says will be her final chapter.
