The Dance of the Light Eunjoo Lee

I encountered the work of Eunjoo Lee for the first time in 2011 at an exhibition held at Yeoju Museum in South Korea. In my opinion, it was the most magnificent work at the exhibition in terms of combining music with the unique characteristics of ceramics and light. The artist performed the rhythm brilliantly and even danced to the music and light. Lee’s work was my single most admired work at the exhibition. This complete chance encounter with a gifted artist whose name I could barely pronounce has undoubtedly earned a place in my mind. Born in 1977, Lee completed her education in Industrial Design from the University of Suwon and later earned her Masters in Ceramic Design from Ewha Woman’s University. The artist continued her work from her own studio but frequently appeared as a
guest artist in residencies at various institutions.
