I’m writing to update you on our plans for Clay Gulgong 2021. We originally thought that April 2021 would be a possibility to go ahead taking into account interstate travel for our masters and everyone’s safety, as well as the safety of your families, friends, and the local Gulgong community. However, after much consultation with New South Wales Health and all other stakeholders, we all concur that this is optimistic.
Our plan, therefore, is to move the festival to September 25th to October 1st. This will be beautiful spring-time and a perfect climate for you to enjoy the very best of regional Australia.
I know you will understand and appreciate how difficult it has been to make this festival happen and we are keeping our collective fingers crossed that you will still be happy to attend. Please amend your accommodation plans with your current provider.
Regarding numbers of attendees/delegates, we will be guided by NSW Health (even though it is a whole year away and a vaccine looks increasingly probable) but we have growing confidence in what we have been able to achieve in both Australia and New Zealand regarding Covid-19, and that in one years time we will be able to welcome you to our wonderful part of the world for Australia’s Great International Ceramics Festival.
We are looking forward to welcoming you to Gulgong in September 2021.
Warmest good wishes,
Bernadette and Neil Mansfield
